This Stripes Layout Throw-Size Quilt explores what happens when directional movement meets bold symmetry. Designed for my book Quilting Adventures, this quilt builds outward from a central square using borders of stripes, squares, and triangles to create a layered, almost architectural composition. The result is vibrant, rhythmic, and full of personality.
Features:
Framed Center with Radiating Borders: A central square-in-a-square anchors the design, surrounded by repeating borders of flying geese, checkerboards, and vertical stripes.
Sunset-Inspired Palette: Peach, sherbet orange, lavender, golden yellow, and pale mint combine for a warm, cheerful tone that still feels modern.
Polished Finishing Touches: Professionally longarm quilted with a wishbone motif that softens the strong geometry; finished with hand binding.
